In order to fully fulfill our mission of being a global fund dedicated to wealth, health and connectedness of Black people everywhere, we know we need to have a presence where our people are. In addition to our grant making and global partnerships, over time we know that a physical presence is very helpful. Place-based philanthropy is in line with \healing-centered philanthropy in that it allows for more direct interaction between program staff and the people whose interest we serve.

We are excited to announce that The Imperative is expanding our global physical presence! In partnership with the Global Fund for Children, we are opening our second office. We now have an office located in Europe. Our London office puts us in closer proximity to our brothers and sisters throughout Europe but also helps us bridge the physical gap between our work on the continent and in the Diaspora.

Through this partnership with the Global Fund for Children and our expansion, we intend to continue highlighting our model of what it means to center the experiences and traditions of people of African descent. We know if you want to go fast you go alone, but if you want to go far, you go with a group, so this move is in collaboration with partners.

It will further our work and our impact with, for and by Black people! We bring our full commitment to our mission everywhere we go. So be on the lookout for programs, partnerships and practices that center Black people throughout Europe and beyond.
